Google this question and you won't get a consensus as to the right answer.
You'll find sites of LOA practitioners saying yes it's definitely real, and you'll also find science and psychology journals saying no it's not real and you should stay away from it.
I'm going to say something different.
The Law of Attraction is only real if you are looking at spiritual reality - that which cannot be perceived through the senses or through any scientific instrument.
If you look at physical reality, it's complete foolishness. By the observable rules of physical reality, you cannot change the nature of a physical item just by thinking good or bad thoughts at it.
Likewise, the question of whether or not there is a God can't be answered definitively by looking at the physical world. One person looks at nature and sees clear evidence that there is a God, and another person looks at nature and sees clear evidence that there isn't.
Which brings me to another extremely important facet of the human experience, with which this question can be answered.
I think Viktor Frankl, Holocaust survivor and author of Man's Search for Meaning, said it best:
“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.”
Every human being has the inalienable right to choose for themselves what thoughts to dwell on and what actions to take.
Even if making one choice results in certain death, it's still a choice, and people do make that choice.
Hopefully, it's not life or death for you to decide whether or not to believe in the Law of Attraction. If a tiger is chasing you, it's gonna be a better idea to run than to meditate, unless you have as much faith as David when he went to fight Goliath.
There *is* a place in spiritual reality where literally nothing can harm you - but if you're there, you'll know it.
I think the Law of Attraction is a key example of a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you believe it is true, you'll act accordingly, and most likely prove it to be true. If you believe it's false, you'll do the same and prove it false.
I've chosen to believe it and to live my life accordingly, and have definitely seen the evidence for it in things that have happened to me.
Ultimately, it comes down to choice. Do you want it to be true?
If so, jump in with both feet - you will begin the spiritual journey of a lifetime. Along the way you will certainly discover the truth, which you can then live by for the rest of your life.
If your heart's desire is to talk to God directly, this would be the first step.
